Firmware tools — free and open source

Downgrade, unlock and flash your drive with free, MIT-licensed tools.

Back up & restoreFlash saves a backup when possible and asks before continuing when it cannot. Recovery uses a current firmware reference without saving a backup.
Checked flashingInputs are validated before writing. Completion checks depend on the drive protocol; Recovery checks readiness and normal identity without readback.
Firmware downgradesSupported paths can install older firmware; compatible hardware, image pairs and protocol checks still matter.
UHD & Blu-ray unlockUnrestricted opens the drive to read every disc type, including Ultra HD Blu-ray.
Region-freeRPC-1 across DVD and Blu-ray, or force a specific region.
Full rip speedLift the read-speed / riplock ceiling, or set your own cap.
Encryption handshake bypassContent reads back decrypted; the host applies the title keys.
Revocation-list skipA revoked-but-genuine host certificate still works (non-destructive).
Hosted base imagesStock OEM firmware for 317 drive models, ready to find and download.
Runtime controlsUnrestricted is enabled by default where supported. Other features start at OEM settings until explicitly changed.
Windows, macOS & LinuxCommand-line tools and desktop apps on all three.
Free & open sourceMIT-licensed. No license key, no subscription, no disc quota.

Flashing supports compatible MediaTek and Pioneer firmware. MT1959 is the hardware-tested MediaTek path; MT1939 remains unvalidated on hardware. See Flash before writing to a drive.
